Libby Gatewood

Tom Gaye

My career started in 1979 as a sales associate with interest rates at 14.5%. The training as a new agent was fantastic because my broker taught on the national circuit. I obtained my broker license in 1982 and began doing appraisal work. Education means knowledge in the market place and when education was required for the license process for appraisers, I became licensed as a Certified Residential Appraiser. As the real estate profession changes the education became mandatory and I became a Certified Instructor Real Estate Relicensure Education in 1988 and continued leaning a sharing by teaching. Through my career I have been a Principal Broker, Associate Broker, Managing Broker, Appraiser and Instructor.I have been a licensed Course Instructor since 2003, Graduate of Realtors Institute in 1980, a Residential Accredited Appraiser, RAA, in 1996, Accredited Buyer Reprehensive, ABR 2006. A Trustee of the Virginia Real Estate Education Foundation since 2005 and current Chair. Have written a course approved by DPOR, "What To Do When the Appraiser Calls". I am currently the Managing Broker with Legacy Properties. The market has changed since the 14.5%+ interest rates but the complexity and technology of the real estate industry just keeps growing....Education is Power.
